About Us

From small beginnings in Kohukohu, Kerikeri Plant Production shifted to Kerikeri in 1995 to enable expansion. We now supply nurseries from Kaitaia to Auckland, as well as in Hamilton, Tauranga and Napier and as far south as Westport and Dunedin.

We grow a diverse range of native trees and flaxes, shrubs, groundcovers, and grasses from seed, cuttings, and divisions, as well as numerous fern species from spore. We focus on species that grow well in Northland and the outer islands. The nursery is predominantly wholesale, however we do have a retail element. The wholesale side supplies GOLs to other nurseries, and mature plants to landscapers and revegetation projects. We also welcome customers who require smaller numbers of plants for domestic plantings to purchase on site from our retail store. Whilst specialising in natives, we do produce a limited range of exotic trees and plants suitable for Northland conditions.
We are always happy to give advice on growing plants that we sell. Customers can contact us with queries, or visit us at the nursery.

Our team are here to help, and enjoy giving top class customer service.

How Can We Help?

Our Values

Best Possible Start

We hand propagate and individually grade our plants to ensure they look good, grow well and stand the test of time. Quality starts at the beginning.

Our team is highly knowledgeable about the plants we produce, so can provide practical advice on the best plantings for garden, landscaping and revegetation projects alike.

We've built up the contacts, skills and expertise needed to specialise in native plants, and are fortunate to operate in a region with a climate that helps us to grow them.

The team at Kerikeri Plant Production are committed  to working on sustainable practices and methodology where possible. As part of our commitment to our customers and our environment we have a number of initiatives in place:

  • Pot & tube recycling
  • Refund scheme for pot & tube returns
  • Composting food scraps in a worm farm
  • Sale of used potting mix for re-use as garden base.
We continue to look for further ways to manage our business more sustainably and to protect our environment.
